spiritualinspiration:

God’s Word can bring encouragement to you and bring you joy during your difficult seasons.

Jeremiah 15:16 says, “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight.”

Just like we naturally crave food and water every day, and it’s a natural habit to satisfy the hunger and thirst, that is how we should make God’s Word in our lives. We don’t think twice about waking up and eating in the morning. Our body craves the nutrients. If we don’t eat, we’ll get weak.

Just like food nourishes us and gives us strength and stamina for the day, God’s Word strengthens us; and when we study and confess it over our lives, it brings hope, healing, joy and powerful change.

It’s important to hide God’s Word in your heart even when you feel like you don’t need it because one day, when it feels as if the sun set while it was still day, you’ll find strength and encouragement.

Everything you need is found in God’s Word. Hope, healing, direction, relational issues, parenting advice, work advice, whatever you’re seeking, you’ll find it in God’s Word.

Even if you just start to meditate on His word three minutes a day, God will bless it.

Here are a few of my favorite verses for strength and encouragement to meditate on during difficult times.

Psalm 94:19
“In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.” (NKJ)

Amplified Version says, “In the multitude of my [anxious] thoughts within me, Your comforts cheer and delight my soul!”

New Living Translation says, “When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer”.

Psalm 50:15
“Call upon me on the day of trouble and I will deliver you.”

Psalm 142:3
“When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then you knew my path.”

Psalm 61:2
“When my heart is overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

Psalm 62:8
“Trust in Him and all times…God is a refuge for us.”

Jeremiah 15:20
“‘I am with you to rescue and save you,’ declares the Lord.”

Zephaniah 3:17
“The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”

Remember, God always causes us to come out better. If it’s raining here, the sun is always shining somewhere else. The sun will always shine again in your life. God always wants us to come to Him in the day of trouble. And when you call upon Him, He will show you great and mighty things, and He will surely rescue you.

“And I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten…” (Joel 2:25).

God is a God of Restoration! You may have had some disappointments or unfair things happen in your life, but instead of dwelling on the past and living defeated, take a stand and focus on God’s promise of restoration. Draw a line in the sand and say, “I am a child of the Most High God, and I’m not going to live my life negative and defeated. This is a new day, and I’m taking back what belongs to me!” That’s having a restoration mentality.

God wants to restore everything that’s been stolen. He wants to restore your joy, restore your peace, restore your health, and restore your finances. But here’s the key: you have to have a vision for it. You have to get your hopes up. You have to decide to get your thoughts and words going in the right direction. Focus on the future and release past hurts through forgiveness.

Decide today to get up every morning hoping, expecting, and believing. Know that God is going to pay you back. Thank Him for restoring everything that the enemy has stolen from you!

We all make mistakes. In fact, no one is immune. But at times it can feel like we are trapped. The solutions for our problems can sometimes seem worse than the problems themselves

And though those mistakes can lead to circumstances and troubles that seem very grim, I want to bring you a word of encouragement today. In the midst of your trouble, God understands…and He can turn your mistakes into miracles.

Perhaps you have done the wrong thing…you’ve made some wrong choices…you’ve done what you knew you shouldn’t do…and now you’re suffering the consequences of those mistakes.

Regardless of any mistake you have made…or tragedy that has come into your life…if you will turn to God, He is prepared to take your mistake, your awful circumstance, and turn it into a miracle.

A great example of how God can work in a miraculous way is recorded in the Old Testament. It is the story of Joseph (see Genesis 37-47).

Joseph’s brothers hated him and threw him into a pit. Then they sold him as a slave, and he was taken to a foreign country. People lied about him, and as a result, he was thrown into prison.

Many bad things happened to Joseph. But God took care of him through it all. And in the end he became the prime minister over all of Egypt. The Lord took all the tragedy in Joseph’s life and turned it into a fantastic miracle that not only blessed Joseph but ended up saving the lives of his family and countless others in the land of Egypt and throughout the known world.

God has not changed. He can do the same thing for you. Regardless of the circumstance you’re in, with God on your side, you can’t lose.
